Breaks U first began in 2007 as an event for intercollegiate breakers in the Northeast region. Over the years, this event has become a staple of the local breaking scene due to the increasing involvement of student-dancers and school organizations in the community. Today, Breaks U is an organization that supports student-dancers in their pursuit of academic achievement, artistic expression, and personal growth. Our activities are driven by core values of dance and hip-hop culture, such as individual growth and community development. These activities include a competitive circuit for intercollegiate dancers, workshops focused on individual development, and a program that helps school clubs improve membership.
