Our aim is to give our own unique perspectives and experiences as people with Parkinson's Disease and engage in dialogue to promote understanding of our condition. We will publish our writing and play our Parkinson's board game with friends, families, caregivers, and those who want to know more about our lives. We will participate as a group at the World Parkinson's Congress in May 2026 and make an impact.
As an offshoot of the Dance for PD program and the Brooklyn Parkinson's Group, we have met and worked together as a self-organized group since July 2024. A year later, in July 2025, we held a successful reading event at the Brooklyn Library for Arts and Culture with more than 60 people present. We disseminated an informal programme for the event with examples of our writing and illustrations. We now wish to build on this success and produce a full publication with our combined writing, and we plan to produce our board game after testing it with groups of interested people.
