Bucketful of Sunshine Media, the production company of actress, writer, and producer Natalie Neckyfarow, is committed to telling stories about women getting in touch with their truth, challenging the status quo and stepping into their full expression with humor and heart.
Our current goal is to complete The Spark, a short comedic film about female pleasure and empowerment and bring this project to film festivals around the United States.
The Spark follows thirtysomething PR Associate Lily as she gets assigned the book launch for “A Good Girl’s Guide to Tantra”. While navigating her own embarrassment and discomfort with sex, she has a huge wakeup call: she’s not actively creating her life, she’s just letting it happen to her. Will she be able to reconnect with her desire and go after what she really wants?
The Spark will shoot in mid-July and once completed will be submitted to film festivals both as a stand alone project and as a springboard for a feature film that follows Lily's journey as she continues to explore her sexuality and reclaim her own power through divorce.
We recently completed a successful crowdfunding campaign, raising $10,170 for production and were awarded a Seed & Spark Patron’s Circle Grant from Jason Reitman (director of Young Adult, Juno, among others).
Our current goal is to raise an additional $2,130 which will cover our remaining cover costs for locations, catering, credit card processing fees, and post-production to bring us to our total production goal of $12,300.
Our stretch goal is to raise an additional $3,000, bringing our total to $15,000 and helping us to cover festival fees, increase the daily rates for our cast and crew who are working well below their usual rate, and to pay for better post-production.
With shooting to begin on July 12th, our fundraising deadline is July 1st.
