Burning Ambulance Music releases 4-5 albums a year by forward-looking artists in the realms of jazz, rock, electronic music, modern classical, and the blurry zones in between. Our 2026 release schedule consists of:
• Joel Futterman/William Parker, Transcendent Universe: free jazz piano/bass duos (out now)
• Ava Mendoza, Alive Alone, Alive Together: psychedelic jazz/rock featuring drummer Hamid Drake (out now)
• Cecil Taylor Orchestra Humane, At Iridium 2004: 14 sets (16 hours of music!) by a 15-member big band (out July 3, 2026)
• Wadada Leo Smith, Constellations And Hemispheres: a studio album featuring multiple ensembles (projected release date: August 2026)
• Michael Sarian, In This Desert: a studio album of electronic jazz-rock (projected release date: August 2026)
Burning Ambulance Music releases are produced in limited runs of 500 physical copies. They are printed in heavy-duty gatefold mini-LP sleeves with textured paper, so they cost more to manufacture than conventional CDs, but they look beautiful, which is why we do it.
Donations will fund the manufacture of the Smith and Sarian CDs, and if we raise enough money, may be used to produce physical versions of the Cecil Taylor release and a 2025 release, Anthony Braxton's Quartet (England) 1985.
