Cadent Shakespeare Co. and Junkyard Shakespeare are embarking on an inaugural collaboration, joining forces to produce a staged reading of King Lear, Shakespeare's sprawling portrait of family, loyalty, leadership, and failure.

A stellar group of artists from Western Mass as well as NYC will spend just one day exploring the story, text, and structure, as well as quick paths to strong ensemble building. At the end of that day, we are excited to invite an audience into our exploration on the evening of March 28th at the Northampton Community Music Center. 

We believe all work in the arts should be financially sustainable, and we need your help to make that happen. For this production, we are fundraising towards a $150 stipend for each of our nine actors. With your support, we can produce this and more excellent professional Shakespeare right here in Northampton.
