About

CALL OUT CULTURE: or, the unbearable whiteness of being is a new play by Kaela Mei-Shing Garvin. It will be performed as a part of Ars Nova's Ant Fest on June 7, 2019.

Queen Victoria. Lady Gaga. A confused panda in a club. Traversing both timelines and time zones, this autobiographical X-Ray of race, assault and imperialism mines both horrors and humor when the personal meets the global.

CALL OUT CULTURE examines Kaela's own journey with the colonization of her biracial heritage and body through interweaving historical, pop-culture, and personal narratives. This is the first workshop production of CALL OUT CULTURE.
