About

What's happening

The Casual English Bible is a free, easy-reading paraphrase of Scripture — written for people new to the Bible, curious readers, and anyone who struggles with older translations. No complex phrasing. Just clear, contemporary English.

Professional proofreading is now underway. Amos and Nehemiah are in the hands of a proofreader right now. All 66 books need this final polish.

What it costs

The total proofreading budget for all 66 books is about $85,130. Every dollar helps — whether you give $5 or $5,000.

Some of our maps hang on the walls of churches and home. This is the Jordan River Valley, looked southeast. Sea of Galilee at left, Dead Sea right.

Northern Israel and the Jordan River Valley between the Sea of Galilee (right) and the Dead Sea. This is the terrain Jesus had to travel from Galilee, south to Jerusalem, high above the valley and in the Judean Hills.

Israel's Jezreel Valley, fertile farmland in Bible times and today. It's also known as the Valley of Armageddon, a place of many battles throughout history. France's General Napoleon called it the "perfect battlefield." Well, not if you want to fight from a place of cover thicker than a wheat stalk.
