Catherine Galasso creates live performance at the intersection of theater, dance, and installation. Her work has been presented at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the National Library in Paris, Harvard University’s Carpenter Center, Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara, Joyce SoHo, and the International Theater Festival in Pristina, Kosovo, among others. Her Bring On The Lumière! (2011) was nominated for an Isadora Duncan Dance Award and is featured in the forthcoming Oxford Handbook of Screendance Studies. In 2015, she premiered Fall of the Rebel Angels: X as part of the The River To River Festival, and choreographed and co-directed, with Keith McDermott, a revival of Jim Neu’s The Floatones, a New York Times “Critics’ Pick” at La MaMa. She is was a 2015-2017 artist-in-residence with the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Extended Life Program made possible in part by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, as well as a 2016-2018 BAX AIR.
