Center for Fiction: This is Not May 68' is a work that activates the ideas of 1968 not as history to be reenacted, but as a force that continues to shape the present through bodies, language, and memory. Moving between movement, narration, and archival fragments, the piece explores psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan's notion of apres coup, where meaning and political desire emerge only in retrospect. Developed in close dialogue with students and collaborators, the work invites audiences to consider resistance as an ongoing, embodied practice rather than a finished historical moment.
