The Center for Trans Documentary Arts is dedicated to preserving, presenting, and fostering critical engagement with documentary art made by and about trans people.
We are building a creative and scholarly hub where documentarians, artists, academics, critics, and diverse audiences come together for generative and boundary-pushing engagement with trans documentary works across film, photography, and audio.
Our programming includes film screenings, photography exhibitions, listening salons, talks, and workshops. While currently focused on pop-up events with partner organizations across Maine, we aim to establish a brick-and-mortar space in Portland.
