Ch Ch Ch Chia honors the life and work of Joseph Pedott, not as a vanity project, but as an embodiment of who he was as a person: a classic bootstrap story, a salesperson extraordinaire, a spotter of opportunity, and a true mensch.
We could tell the compelling story of Joseph Pedott by producing and distributing a traditional documentary - it’s that good. But why would we do that when we can use this largely unknown story as a catalyst for a conversation about success - how one achieves it and what one does with that success? Why wouldn’t we use it as a vehicle to help others be successful?
The process of making this film will be just as important as the film itself. We will partner with a local film school and nonprofits that Joe funded in San Francisco and Chicago to engage students in the art and business of making a film. We will chronicle the making of the film so these students can gain expertise, contacts, credits and cash. We will use it to showcase the causes Joe cared about - education, mentorship, democracy building.
Together we will produce a quirky, feel good film. We will create a community and ethos around the project that oozes joy and reminds people that success is meant to be shared.
