About

Chaos Theory uses the arts to connect community members who have been impacted by the cycle of violence with stakeholders, policy makers, and the public. We believe the arts are uniquely positioned to shift hearts and minds, dismantle stigma, and inspire vital public dialogue--led by the true experts: those who have lived it.

SEEKING SUPPORT FOR OUR CURRENT PROJECT:

WE ARE BRINGING MUSIC AND THEATRE PROGRAMMING BEHIND THE WALL TO STUDENTS WHO ARE CURRENTLY INCARCERATED IN THE MA DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS STATE PRISON SYSTEM!

There is currently no other music or theatre education offered within these state facilities.

Your donations will go directly towards the implementation of music and theatre programming in two state prisons.

Thank you for helping us spread joy throughout some of the darkest corners of the system.

My students thank you.

Donations are fully tax-deductible. You will receive a proof of donation/acknowledgment letter immediately upon making a donation.  (Project has fiscal sponsorship with Fractured Atlas.)

We address gun violence, mass incarceration, and criminal justice reform.

We believe that community members who have been directly impacted are the true experts, and must lead the way forward. But they are often funneled into the criminal justice system--where they are further isolated, and their voices go unheard. We create spaces to hear from them.

Through live performance, creative writing, and film, cast members explore their creative voice; take ownership over their narrative; think critically about where these problems come from and what interventions might be effective; and lead the way forward.

Performances and screenings are followed by talk-backs, with cast members leading the conversation.

Chaos Theory strives to cultivate compassion and celebrate the humanity that thrives in the darkest corners of our system. We challenge harmful narratives that are commonly reenforced, and the dangerous stigmas that are perpetuated against those who are most impacted by street violence and incarceration.

We are advocating to bring public health gun violence prevention models that have proven effective in reducing shootings in other cities, to Pittsfield, MA. Join us.

Who owns the story?

Who decides which stories are told?

And who benefits when some voices go unheard?
