About

Charm City Sings is a vibrant community chorus, based in Baltimore, welcoming all voices without auditions. We provide Baltimore neighborhoods with free concerts - giving our city equitable access to high quality choral concerts. While our mission is music, the foundation of Charm City Sings is deepening community through joyful and meaningful connections;  contributing to Baltimore’s heritage as a world-class city for the arts.

Founded in 2022, we began with a humble group of 29 passionate singers, united by our love for music and a shared vision of building a community through song. Today, as we enter our third season, we are proud to have grown into a dynamic ensemble of over 125 members, each contributing their unique voice to our collective harmony.

Charm City Sings is more than just a chorus; we are a joyful community dedicated to making great music and making a difference. Each rehearsal is a celebration of our shared passion, and each performance is an opportunity to connect with our audience on a deeply emotional level. Our founder, Heidi Ackerman, leads each rehearsal in her signature fast-paced, humorous fashion. “Singing should be fun! I promise you’ll leave every rehearsal not only as a better musician, but with a smile.”
