Checkmark Productions is a New York based production company with a mission to support underrepresented artists in the telling of their stories.
Through the development of new plays, musicals, and digital series, we strive to create a space that challenges the limits of storytelling by supporting our artists in every facet of their work.
Since our founding in October of 2017, we produced our inaugural reading series entitled DEVO, which showcased three new plays each written and directed by women of color. In the 18-19 season, we developed DREAM HOU$E, a new play by Eliana Pipes, from its first draft to its first full production at Ars Nova’s ANT Fest. Now, we are in pre-production for our first digital series, TONI, the story of a Latinx, social media influencer who struggles with balancing her personal, public, and political life during an incredibly divided moment in our country, loosely based on the life of Marie Antoinette.
