About

Christie Vozniak is a dancer, actor and motivator committed to defying age-based limitations through collaboration, studio practice and performance in the field of dance. In addition, she is committed to empowering members of her community of adult beginners, adult aspiring professionals and adult dance enthusiasts to pursue their goals regardless of any perceived limitations they may have.

Christie took her first dance class at the age of 30 as part of a New Year’s Resolution at a dance fitness studio for adults. She immediately fell in love with moving to music and was immediately engaged with the expressiveness, artistry, athleticism and technical skill involved with dance. Making the transformation from adult beginner to adult professional involved creativity and tenacity in overcoming the physical and mental barriers associated with pursuing the highest level or artistry and a career in dance as an adult.

She acquired training through non-traditional means such as adult drop-in or recreational classes, online tutorials and videos as well as pursuing any professional level training opportunity that accepted adults, often being the oldest participant with the least experience.

Since, she has performed professionally as a dancer in musical theatre, dance theatre works and for the past two years has trained with the Radio City Rockettes. She recently received the first-ever Jeff Capitola Scholarship for dance ability and professionalism during the 2017 Rockettes Summer Intensive and has also served as a mentor and advisor to adults at the dance fitness studio she began at four years ago. Christie continues to pursue the highest level or artistry and experiences and ways to encourage other adults to pursue their goals regardless of limitations based on age or experience. Ultimately she hopes to reach anyone who has ever felt discouraged to live a life fulfilled due to perceived limitations regarding age or time.
