Claire Wellin: The Sun and Fun Capital of the Midwest

Violin-looping singer-songwriter, teacher, and organizer Claire Wellin released her fourth studio album, The Sun and Fun Capital of the Midwest, supported in part by the New York State Council on the Arts. She recorded the album at Better Company Studios, and is fundraising for mixing, mastering, and artwork expenses. The record is a love letter to the women who came before her; part song cycle, part research project, Claire is using stories from her grandmothers, great aunt, and other family members as the touchstone for exploring generational patterns, memory, loss, and growth.
