About

Climate Creatives consults to organizations of all types to accelerate their response to climate change. We provide action plans for mitigation and adaptation, using art and design as the process to develop these commitments. Susan Israel began Climate Creatives in 2008 after two decades of practicing architecture to communicate climate issues using public art, sculpture, and participatory art experiences. We help communities, organizations, and companies align stakeholders to sustainability goals and make plans for immediate action, and have reached over 650,000 people on-site globally, plus more digitally. We collaborate with individuals and organizations and have worked with over 150 partners and clients.
The bedrock philosophy on which Susan’s work is based is that people need to be engaged more fully in what only can be described as an epic battle to limit the damage to our climate: we need cultural change on a planetary scale. Because the problem is huge and scary, people tend to shut it out. We find that, by using art, we can better reach people and activate them with our unique creative experiences. We educate and empower them to take action.
 • Our hands-on art experiences and workshops are empowering, engaging, and build community in organizations. Participants develop their own solutions and commitments.
 • Our public art installations communicate data visually and viscerally in a positive emotional context to allow people to process frightening data. We link action to our art.
 • Our STEAM education programs engage learners of all types and connect disciplines
