About

Mission

Climate House is a mobile climate museum producing arts and cultural programming framed in the context of climate change. In doing so, Climate House seeks to create “aha” moments  — making often abstract, intersecting climate change topics more real, captivating, and approachable while bringing actionable solutions into focus.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Climate House will serve as LA’s Climate Museum and is currently producing site-specific works. Climate House also produces multi-site exhibitions and interdisciplinary residencies across geographies, to reach and guide more audiences on a pathway forward.

Purpose

Climate House exists to:
  • harness the world-building potential of cultural and policy workers,
  • drive cultural momentum toward a better world, and
  • fill imagination gaps between problems and solutions.

Values

Our work is guided by these values:
  • artists’ voices are important in shaping society;
  • communal spaces invite creative expression, interdisciplinary collaboration, and dialogue;
  • immersive, research-based arts exhibitions can make solutions approachable and digestible; and
  • global warming impacts every aspect of life on the planet, calling for comprehensive, just, responsible, and urgent solutions across issue areas and disciplines — in other words, climate action is a need-to-do, not a nice-to-do, and every action (or inaction) is a climate policy.

Who we are

Climate House is run by an interdisciplinary team of climate policy strategists, artists, movement builders, storytellers, and researchers.

Climate House is a fiscally sponsored project of Fractured Atlas and project of Climate Creativity, a global arts and storytelling nonprofit headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
