Collective Roots uses theatre and storytelling to bring people together around the experiences, histories, and issues that shape our lives. Rooted in lived experience, our work includes Playback Theatre, story projects, and facilitated community dialogue, with projects ranging from performances and one-time gatherings to longer-term creative collaborations. Based in Birmingham and working across Alabama and beyond, we aim to expand access to community-based and participatory arts practices that are not widely available in the region.
