Come and Go is a medium-length film about stories, adapted from Lynne Tillman's work of the same name, as well as her story "Pleasure Isn't a Pretty Picture." Emma, a hard-drinking psychic, has two chance encounters with Charles, a lawyer in the entertainment industry--first on the city street, and again outside a hospital, after she's treated for a twisted ankle and Charles is given good news from a doctor. Meanwhile, in that same hospital, a drug addict named Maggie learns to kick her bad habits. These three lonely individuals are the creations of an unnamed author, who narrates their lives. By the film's end, we learn about him, too.
It is the first narrative film from Conor Williams, and a rare adaptation of Lynne Tillman’s eclectic and captivating voice to the cinema screen. It will be shot on a combination of 16mm film and digital.
