Common Sister is a creative production company that exists to make room, founded by two Asian American female producers. Room for untold stories, emerging artists, and communities too often left out of the big narratives. By centering artists and practicing intentional collaboration, we transform connection and community into live performance.
Artists across disciplines like theater, dance, music, and spoken word will be invited to share work that reflects their lived experiences and creative practices. Each piece becomes a thread in a larger tapestry, revealing how our differences coexist alongside shared truths. In addition to these showcases of work, the festivals will house different networking opportunities and community-building activities to further the personal connections between artists.
Community is not just our audience, but our collaborator. This project prioritizes accessibility, dialogue, and care, creating space for artists and community members to encounter one another through storytelling and performance. By uplifting diverse voices and fostering meaningful exchange, Common Sister aims to cultivate empathy, curiosity, and collective belonging.
Ultimately, this project serves as both a celebration of diversity and a reminder of our shared humanity.
