Tchatcheuse seeks funding for the build-out of an existing 1,500-square-foot, multi-purpose creative space in Lower Manhattan, designed specifically to support young, emerging creatives at a pivotal point in their development. A hybrid space for making, showing, and connecting, it will support young artists at the forefront of creative practice, in NYC and beyond.
This initiative is designed to promote experimentation, cross-cultural dialogue, and the production of uncompromised creative work, free from commercial pressures. TCHATCHEUSE strives to: ESTABLISH A PURPOSE-BUILT CREATIVE SPACE in Lower Manhattan. We aim to complete the design and build-out of a 1,500-square-foot, multi-use studio to serve as a dedicated space for early-career artists to create, collaborate, and present work.
By doing so, we intend to: EXPAND ACCESS FOR EMERGING CREATIVES + provide young artists—particularly those without institutional backing or financial privilege—with the physical space, tools, and support network necessary to grow their practice; CENTER GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES AND CULTURE EXCHANGE by hosting artists from both the U.S. and abroad, fostering a working environment grounded in cross-cultural dialogue, diverse worldviews, and mutual creative influence; ENCOURAGE PROCESS-ORIENTED, NON-COMMERCIAL WORK by supporting artists in taking creative risks and exploring ideas that fall outside commercial or mainstream expectations, emphasizing experimentation; and, FOSTER COLLABORATION ACROSS DISCIPLINES by creating an open, interdisciplinary environment where emerging artists can share practices, challenge each other’s thinking, and generate new work together.
