Critical Crop Top

Critical Crop Top Media is a production company based out of Atlanta, Georgia that produces films, web content, podcasts, and live comedy shows that amplify the voices of women in comedy and Atlanta artists whose voices are typically not represented in mainstream television and film. Critical Crop Top was formed in 2016 with the goal of producing content from an intersectional feminist perspective and to create opportunities for women and other underrepresented voices to provide social commentary in a comedic light. We use our platform to elevate women's stories beyond the typical tropes of the sacrificial, supportive sister/wife/daughter or the "strong female character", to create multidimensional female characters that echo the diverse and complex experiences of real women.

Critical Crop Top Media produces a podcast exploring women's representation in film called The Feminine Mistake Podcast, films and web series that are written and directed by women, and live sketch comedy shows showcasing socially conscious comedians, actors, writers, and directors. We also offer support and education to emerging creators through our monthly writers group and online tutorials.
