Danza Restless is the resulting product of an initial video dance project, Restless, created by worldwide choreographers and a dancer based in New York.
This online dance platform was made to entertain our audience and allow the community of artists to continue creating while making a living.
Danza Restless is the consequence of desperate artists during the lockdown suffering from anxiety and unable to practise their art. Aware that the social media and visual platforms were beginning to take an important place in todays world, the concerned artists came up with the idea of creating a dance video. The latter performed by the confined Mauricio Vera and choreographed by diverse artists spread internationally. After countless zoom meetings, rehearsals, video editions; “Restless” was made with the camera of a cellphone. A prototype of what Danza Restless would become.
Danza Restless is a refuge in all of its possible aspects for all of the dance community today struggling with the incapacity to perform their art onstage as well as the inevitable ravage of unemployment. With this online dance platform we propose an artistic visual residency; an international platform to train via workshops, to create and to perform.
At the moment, we wish to reproduce short films like Restless with other confined, talented artists and where theaters are closed. Another of our objective, is to be able to pay all of the working members participating in the development of the final product: dancer, choreographer, musicians video editor and administrative team, consequently respecting the work of each artistic member.
We are a non-profit project under the fiscal Sponsorship of Fracture Atlas ONG and we ask your support to carry out this innovative project which has become the only artistic entertainment you as an audience can appreciate.
Your financial support will help us to initiate this platform and start matching and auditioning future dancers. We have already received multiple nomations at worldwide golden film festivals prioritizing creativity over our low-cost productions. Today we hope that this may evolve into improved productions and proper remuneration for our artists. Finally, we aspire to produce and host our own Film Festival competition; consequently fomenting and establishing a genre of dance films directed by choreographs.
Danza Restless is a psychological but essentially artistic refuge maintaining the recognition of dance as being a remunerated art form.
