In collaboration with Riot Act, NYC based production company Twenty Somethings is presenting Dirty Bird in September 2026.
Dirty Bird is a new adaptation of The Seagull that leans into the grunge and punk spirit of the play, rooted firmly in the Brooklyn scene. Set in present-day New York, Dirty Bird doesn’t sentimentalize the text. It strips away the period distance and leaves what was always there: ten people running out of time, unable to say what they mean. Music from Bowie, the Pixies, and others runs through the piece - it's bolder, alive, and obsessed with "new forms."
