DownEast New Music brings dynamic young musicians to DownEast Maine for exciting, high-level performances of contemporary chamber music. Building on the region's existing enthusiasm for classical music and contemporary art, we hope to expand our audience's ideas of what "classical music" can be. Now in our third season, our performances showcase today's leading composers and feature prominent young artists to share a more diverse and engaging side to traditional chamber music.
