About

THE PROBLEM
In America, and around the world, fear of the unknown has developed into hate. One LGBTQ+ young person (age 13-24) attempts suicide every 45 seconds.

THE SOLUTION
Make the unknown known. Meet hatred with joy.

WHAT IS IT?
On July 10, 2023, three friends set out to break the Guinness World Record for the longest drag show in history. Dragathon: Meeting Hate With Joy is a 90-minute feature-length documentary covering conception thru 48-hour execution with intercuts of personal stories from the star-studded list of performers and emcees. Potential cast from those involved includes RuPaul's Drag Race alums, comedians from Saturday Night Live, and Grammy-winning artists.

WHAT IT WILL DO
Compete at film festivals around the world to share the film's message and inspire audiences to create change in their communities.

A COMMITMENT TO EQUITY
Inclusion is the entire point. Beyond being directed by a Latina woman (who helm less than 1% of Hollywood films), Dragathon brings together folks from all gender expressions, cultures, ethnicities, and ages to attempt a world-shattering task. Our commitment extends behind the scenes, with a crew of historically underrepresented talent. By supporting Dragathon you ensure all of these voices are heard and countless others watching feel seen.
