The Drew Schnurr Music Project supports the creative development of projects by composer Drew Schnurr.
Drew's work has been presented in galleries and theaters on six continents in addition to numerous national and international concert music commissions and performances. He is an experimental composer blurring lines between musical style and discipline. His current work integrates speech, visual media, science, and technology. Projects in development include new works for symphonic orchestra, wind symphony, chamber ensemble, opera, media, and augmented reality.
As a multidisciplinary researcher, Dr. Schnurr's work is rooted in philosophical aesthetics that contextualize scientific understanding of cognitive processes related to both music and speech. His current research explores musical intersections with other scientific areas as well, including molecular biology and engineering of augmented reality software for new forms of musical expression.
Drew’s mission is to utilize a range of performance forms and contexts to create musical experiences that illuminate contemporary human experience, bringing beauty to the world. This work is sustained by donations in support of Drew’s mission. Your financial giving to this project supports American musical innovation and the future of American classical music.
