About

Project Description: Echo of Us The Vision Echo of Us is a multidisciplinary contemporary dance work created and performed by [Your Name]. This project serves as a visceral meditation on resilience, navigating the psychological and physical landscape of widowerhood. By integrating my 35-year background as a classical and contemporary dancer with my skills as a countertenor and cellist, I am creating a "total art" experience that explores how we compose a new life from the "echoes" of a lost partnership. The Timeline & Development (April 1 – June 30, 2026) This funding period marks a critical transition for the work. The project kicks off in April with the premiere of a 7-minute solo excerpt at the Los Angeles Dance Festival. This debut serves as a proof-of-concept and a platform for audience engagement. From May through June, the project moves into an intensive residency and rehearsal phase. During this time, I will expand the choreography into a full 45-minute production, incorporating live-looping cello arrangements and vocal scores that mirror the emotional arc of the movement. Artistic & Technical Goals As the International Artistic Director of Cia. Ballet da Barra, I am applying my experience in production management to ensure this work meets the highest professional standards. The development phase focuses on: Choreographic Expansion: Building a full-length narrative arc that explores stages of grief and renewal. Multidisciplinary Integration: Refining the technical transition between live instrumentation (cello), vocal performance (countertenor), and high-level contemporary movement. Production Design: Collaborating with lighting and sound designers to create an immersive, intimate environment suitable for "black box" theaters in Venice and Santa Monica. Public Impact The public benefit of Echo of Us is the creation of a communal space for healing. Through open rehearsals and post-performance Q&A sessions, I intend to spark a dialogue on male vulnerability and the role of the arts in processing trauma. This project brings a sophisticated, international artistic perspective to the Los Angeles Westside, offering a unique cultural contribution that is as much a chamber concert as it is a dance performance.
