The Eclectic Collective's goal is to translate the work of local writers in dynamic ways in an arena of creative collaboration. We work with all writing genres. A core group of about ten creatives devote their time and energy to eclectic narratives about rising from the ashes in colorful, yet humble bouquets of expression. We explore sensitive topics in unique, sometimes unorthodox, and always roundabout ways, rather than banging people over the head with didactics. We're interested in nuance, nonlinear storytelling, the vulnerability of the creative soul, and the incorporation of disparate ideas and elements. We hope to inspire others and to help grow a rich culture of literary performance art in the Monterey area. We have been doing this since 2016.
