Eljuri Amplificando Voces para el Activismo Social
Eljuri is a New Yorker, immigrant, Latina, woman, singer, and guitarist. Her greatest passions are songwriting and activism. She considers herself a conduit to the voices of those she encounters when she travels and tours internationally with her NYC based power trio. Her music is a fusion of Latin, reggae and global rhythms with rock and funk. Her lyrics, in Spanish and English are socially conscious and about current global issues.
In her world, music and activism are positively intertwined. She's been called a ‘Rockstar Humanitarian’ and seeks to empower not only the Latino community but all champions for human rights. First hand experience and representation matters.
Eljuri Amplifying Voices for Social Activism is a series of live events that combine Eljuri's concerts with in-person engagement, media outreach, and digital marketing to inspire action on important social issues. This non-partisan initiative empowers communities through music, educational materials, and an activism toolkit, helping individuals turn awareness into immediate action and meaningful change.
The goal of this project is to attract and unite communities through the power of live music, creating an inclusive soundtrack that inspires people to recognize and use their voice. The Eljuri power trio performs original music and encourages audience participation.
In conjunction, the Eljuri Activism Toolkit will be available. Users will find a user friendly interface with direct links to activities and solutions to key social, civic, safety and environmental issues.
The project's ideal outcome is to empower individuals with the ability to identify issues that matter to them and develop goals/actions towards positive social change. That a new cohort of participants will find like minds and collaborators towards greater impact and to be at the forefront of solutions.
