Emily Christianson Dances focuses on the creation and performance of intimate, evocative dance works that favor a stream of consciousness perspective and nonlinear approach. Intricate, textured, imaginative, and with a flair for revealing the unexpected, the work celebrates the profundity of the individual’s journey and transforms it into a collective, shared experience.
Currently, Emily Christianson is collaborating with Atlanta-based choreographers Alejandro Abarca and Myra Bazell, Philadelphia-based artist Lillian Ransijn, and San Diego-based artist Alicia Peterson Baskel on "ONE: A Kinetic Journal."
"ONE: A Kinetic Journal" is a contemporary dance theater work that explores the diverse meanings of "one" through contemporary dance, theater, storytelling, improvisation, and technology.
The full-length production premiered in Atlanta, GA at West End Performing Arts Center February 8-11, 2018.
The artists will again perform "ONE: A Kinetic Journal" April 21-22, 2018 at University of CA San Diego in La Jolla, CA.
