About

Continuing the wildly successful mission of Archway Editions (publisher of books like Blake Butler's MOLLY and Ishmael Reed's THE HAUNTING OF LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA, along with others by Alice Notley, Lynne Tillman, Erin Taylor, Claire Donato, and more), Enigma Editions is picking up right where AE off, with the same staff and a slate of books that were being prepared for Archway's next season. Distributed to the trade by MIT Press and Penguin Random House, Enigma shares Archway's mission "to publish the finest authors, at all stages of their careers, who write material which is at odds with the prevailing status quo, both legendary and emerging." Our first title is a new work of auto-criticism by our marquee author Ishmael Reed, and we will be publishing work from new authors and AE stalwarts alike, in addition to picking up titles from the backlist. More work to come includes poetry from Lamb, a new edition of the underground sensation the Meme Kit, novels by Afsana Mousavi and Chris Molnar, and much more. In addition, Enigma Editions will be hosting readings and publishing an online journal for up-and-coming writers.
