Experimental Bitch (ExB) is a fiscally-sponsored arts company committed to developing and producing badly-behaved, genre-defying new performance by emerging TGNC, queer and women artists.
ExB is unique because it supports emerging artists whose work is not (yet) legible to mainstream theater companies and audiences due to its groundbreaking content, mode of storytelling, and the communities for whom the work is created. ExB is distinct in its commitments to ensuring aligned representation on the creative teams of every project and incorporating community partnerships into programming. Put simply, ExB supports emerging TGNC, queer, and women artists in the creation of innovative new work that shakes audiences’ sensibilities and engages them as active participants, and, in so doing, expands our imagination of what theater is, where it happens and who it is for.
ExB has three primary programs: production, development, and community programming. ExB commissions works that not only falls within its missions but also speaks to communities that are under-resourced in the theatre industry and in society more broadly. Next, ExB collaboratively produces alongside independent artists with pre-existing developmental support. Finally, ExB creates community programs to foster civic engagement, encourage cross cultural conversation, and build community.
