Thank you + Invitation!

Dear EBP donors and supporters,

Thank you for helping us get so close to our goal this season. We raised just over $14,000 to go toward our arts programming this season and we are so excited to begin sharing that programming with you RIGHT NOW!

First, we are excited to share that our Bitchin' Collabs residency programmed was recently featured in Playbill!

Our first Bitchin' Collabs Share Night is TONIGHT at 7:00PM ET. We'll be sharing three works-in-progress from artists Amara J. Brady, Aizzah Fatima and Julie Pinero virtually via YouTube and Facebook Live.

We have also recently announced a new direction for In the Kitchen, which we will be partnering Awafi Kitchen to present to you this fall! Our audio play and food box pairing is unlike anything we've done before, but encapsulates the innovative theatricality that our company believes in. We could be more excited to share the news with you!

Thank you for standing by us during this unprecedented and difficult time in the arts industry. We are grateful that our company has the technical capacity to harness the benefits of new media and streaming. We will continue to re-define and re-imagine what theater is and can be.

With love and gratitude,
Tatiana Baccari, Wednesday Derrico, and the Experimental Bitches

4 days left to reach our goal!

Dear valued EBP donors and supporters,

We wanted to take a moment to update you on the progression of our campaign. We are excited to announce that we have raised $12,049 in our Fractured Atlas campaign!

EBP recently received a $500.00 Indie Theater Fund Grant in addition to $318.00 in checks. That brings our total amount raised to $12,862 - over 85% toward our goal! We have 4 days left and just over $2,000 to raise.

And we have more exciting news! On Sunday, July 26th - the last day of our campaign - we will be hosting “Tati & Wendy’s Dance-a-Thon”! For every donation given in the last 24 hours of the campaign, no matter the size, EBP co-directors Tatiana Baccari and Wednesday Derrico will send a personalized dance video to our donors!

We will be announcing a new direction for “In the Kitchen”, created by Hannah Goldman and directed by Coral Cohen, which has been awarded the Brooklyn Art Council’s 2020 Community Arts Grant this week. We are thrilled to bring this amazing project to a wider audience this fall. Stay tuned!

And be on the lookout for an exciting feature by Playbill about our new residency series, Bitchin’ Collabs, coming out on Monday, July 27th!

We truly mean it that every $1 counts during an online crowdsourcing day like this.
If you are able to share this with FIVE FRIENDS who donate just $5.00, we will reach our goal!

Thank you for your generous support! We could not do this without you!

Love and admiration,

Tatiana, Wednesday and the Experimental Bitches

EBP Match Day: We're almost half-way there!

Dear valued EBP donors and supporters,

We are so grateful for your contributions during this difficult time. We wanted to take a moment to say thank you and to update you on the progression of our campaign.

EBP recently received a $500.00 Indie Theater Fund Grant in addition to $318.00 in checks. That brings our total amount raised to $6,321 - over 40% toward our goal!

And we have more exciting news! We have a match day coming up! Two anonymous donors have agreed to a 2:1 match starting on July 2nd through July 5th. That means a gift of $10 turns into $30, $50 turns to $150, $100 into $300! We have the potential to raise $4,000! If make our FULL MATCH during the #EBPIndieMatch20, we will be almost 70% closer to our goal.

A gift on July 2nd (through the 5th!) helps in a time of crisis and will ensure we’re able to proceed with our 2020 season, giving 15 femme, emerging artists of all disciplines meaningful and fair-paying work. We recently presented a public virtual workshop of our 2020 commission, Tanya's LIT CLIT by Emma Goldman-Sherman, and launched our inaugural Bitchin' Collabs residency for six POC, femme artists to develop new, interdisciplinary works, curated by Miranda Haymon. Bitchin' Collabs will have free public sharings starting in August.

We truly mean it that every $1 counts during an online crowdsourcing day like this. If you are not able to contribute financially please help us raise awareness by telling YOUR story and tagging us on social media and/or using #EBPIndieMatch20.

Are you a local business who would like to add a perk and help us raise more money? We’d love to hear from you!

Does your company offer an employer match? You could QUADRUPLE the impact of your gift! Ask your HR rep or send us a note and we’ll investigate on your behalf!

Thank you for your generous support!

Tatiana, Wednesday and the Experimental Bitches

Who We Are

Experimental Bitch Presents (EBP) is a feminist producing company committed to badly-behaved, genre-defying performance by womxn+. We are thrilled to launch our 2020 Season!

Our unifying theme this season is “InterGenz,” exploring intergenerational legacy, culture and collaboration. This season will include A world premiere production, EBP's first-ever play commission and a new works-in-progress series.

COVID-19 CRISIS
This pandemic is affecting Experimental Bitch Presents (EBP) in significant ways. Many in our community have completely lost their income. EBP’s public funding has been halted and we fear for the future of our beloved company.

In light of this crisis, EBP needs your support now more than ever. We are committed to supporting womxn+ artists. As we dive into our 2020 Season, with new virtual arts programming, will you join us in this mission?

Last season, we raised just over $30,000 to complete our first season, which included:

  • The world premiere production of Jack of Cups by Gabriel Rodriguez at The Flea Theater
  • A SOLD OUT workshop production of In the Kitchen by Hannah Goldman at Access Theater
  • 2 workshops and staged readings: Measure for Measure adapted/directed by Madeline Wall and New Nostalgias by Sophia Heinecke.
  • Collaborated with over 100 artists (>60% womxn+) and every one of them got paid!
  • Served over 1,000 audience members, including over 200 through free programming

Our 2020 Season

We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a Brooklyn Arts Council community arts grant and an artist residency with the historic Access Theater to help support us this season!

In the Kitchen - a world premiere production
  • a multi-disciplinary theatrical event with live cooking, dance, and original music that explores cross-generational Arab-Jewish womanhood.
  • Conceived and performed by Hannah Aliza Goldman (The Straight Man, PIT) and directed by Coral Cohen (Between the Threads: Jewish Women Project, HERE).

Bitchin' Collabs - a new development series curated by Miranda Haymon (Princess Grace Award/Honoraria-winning writer, director and deviser)
  • featuring dynamic, interdisciplinary works-in-progress from femme artists of color.
  • The first two events will take place virtually thanks to our Virtual Technical Producer, Alisha Bhowmik.

Tanya's LIT CLIT - a world premiere play commission by award-winning playwright, Emma Goldman-Sherman (MAN&WIFE, Desert Ensemble Theatre)
  • Tanya’s LIT CLIT is a new play that brings the mythic into modernity. By exploding ancient myths about female bodies, the play lays bare the complexities of women’s health in modern medicine.
  • Conceived with and directed by EBP's Artistic Director, Tatiana Baccari.

Why We Need Your Help Now

This crisis has us questioning what is essential in our lives. As artists, our work has been deemed “non-essential,” but it is art that we all turn to for solace and escape, a much needed salve to keep us inspired and connected.

Donate to ensure that EBP can continue supporting artists and serving our audiences both on the web and when we resume live programming.

We need to raise $15,000!

This money will go toward:

- Paying artists: actors, designers, directors, writers, stage managers and more!
- Renting rehearsal studios
- Booking performance venues
- Materials for shows such as lights, costumes, and set pieces
- Marketing materials such as programs and merchandise
- Operating and administrative costs including our website and Fractured Atlas membership.

We are thrilled to be partnering with Fractured Atlas and pleased that donations to this campaign are tax-deductible!

Over 85% of our support comes from individual donors, like you. We are so grateful for your support. Thank you!
