Faces is a short drama film about Aria and AJ, a young engaged couple ready to move into the next phase of their lives. As Aria finds out she's pregnant, AJ is focused on becoming one of the youngest Black showrunners in history. As it becomes clear that there are some rifts and tensions between the seemingly happily pair, their relationship is put to the test when they run into one of AJ's classmates from film school, Bree, who accuses him of sexually assaulting her years earlier.
Faces is a very loaded, layered, women-centric work that explores other complicated aspects of assault, such as sexual coercion and rape in committed romantic relationships. My goal is to spark conversations and community engagement.
