FALLING SHORT is the story of four long-time friends on a night out together, as an ex couple and a bourgeoning one manipulate each other in an attempt to disguise their insecurities. The story starts in a small-town bar and moves to a house over the course of an intoxicating night.
After the would-be couples meet at a bar, the lines of attraction become convoluted as they jab at one another with knives of jealousy in a tit-for-tat exchange that leaves all parties bloody. It is in these exchanges that their desires become complicated by a cycle of harm that examines how we act on our insecurities and dig at others to get what we want. The film is about how romance and attraction can tear us apart and make us whole again, as well as how our expectations dictate the ways we interact with those around us.
