Who we are.

Female Voices Rock is a one-of-a-kind event that celebrates women in the industry and champions the inclusion of underrepresented storytellers and content creators. FVR is an online platform and community that provides year-round support and opportunities through educational workshops, webinars, and networking events, culminating with a week-long festival held annually in New York City.

Words from the Founder / Executive director

Female Voices Rock is not only a festival, but a tribe of strong, talented, and determined women, and it's able to exist today because of the love, passion, and talent of our incredible volunteers and supporters. I started the festival to increase diversity and inclusion in the film festival circuit. Film festivals screen almost three times as many films directed by men as by women. On top of that, festivals employ twice as many men as women, which means that women's work is not equally seen. We believe in the work we are doing and know that by providing women an audience to tell their stories, we will change the fabric of society. Women are strong protagonists, able to create and share our own narratives. I believe in the power of story, and if you do too, I ask that you consider helping our mission of shining a spotlight on women creators.
