Rosette, a Richmond-based string quartet, will perform the music of Fodé Lassana Diabaté SIX times in SIX different venues during the month of October! They will be joined by dancer Kevin LaMarr Jones for each performance. Because many of the performances are free and open to the public, your donation to this campaign is what makes this series possible.

The idea
The So Hot Right Now series brings the music of one very hot, very alive composer to Richmond audiences by performing their work multiple times, and in a variety of venues, over the course of one month.

- hear a live performance of brand new music more than once,
- experience it in an environment where they feel comfortable,
- and at a price they can afford.
Rosette's October performances will take place in a church, a yoga studio, an art gallery, a living room, a recording studio, and a winery. Three out of the six performances are free and open to the public.
About Fodé Lassana Diabaté
Rosette’s sixth So Hot Right Now series features the music of virtuoso balafon player, Fodé Lassana Diabaté. Born in 1971 in Guinea to a well-known griot family, Diabaté now lives in Mali where he is the leader of Trio Da Kali, a group of Malian griots whose aim is to bring back forgotten repertoires and styles of the Mande griot tradition.
Rosette will perform his work, Sunjata’s Time (which was commissioned by the Kronos Quartet for their Fifty for the Future project) six times in six different locations in Richmond, Virginia. They will be joined by dancer Kevin LaMarr Jones.
