Five Flights by Adam Bock

“The soul is a bird we keep in our hearts” Adam Bock

About

Five Flights is about persisting in life in the face of disappointment, loss, and fear of relationships It makes my heart dance.

Five Flights is the story of three siblings trying to decide what to do with the enormous aviary that their late father built for his deceased wife, whose soul, he believed, had transformed into the body of a wren. His grown children are faced with the dilemma of what to do with the crumbling structure.Folded into this debate are issues of the perpetuity of grief, religious conviction, fear of commitment, the way Russian ballet resembles a hockey game, and the courtship of Ed by Tom, a gay professional hockey player.

Five Flights is being produced by IAMSHE Productions. Our mission is to redress the inequity of women’s representation in theater by spotlighting the historical and cultural significance of women. We do this by ensuring we emphasize and facilitate the development of women’s roles as actors, writers, producers, designers, directors, and artistic directors.

We are raising $5,000 to cover the costs of rent, marketing, paying the designers, actors, and crew. I hope you will join me in this first flight and give Five Flights your support. Thank you.
