This metamorphic story of immigration plays with shifting atmospheres and our own senses through non-traditional flamenco. Beautiful juxtaposition of alienation and discovery is achieved with unorthodox instruments, traveling musicians and the personal story of dancer Sol Koeraus.
El Inmigrante Is the story of an immigrant who comes from a faraway land caring all her fears, sorrows, and anxieties, but above all her will power to achieve what she wants in her life.
With "El INMIGRANTE", the dancer Sol Koeraus speaks to us of her experiences as an inmigrant.
With the Flamenco music as a key, different atmospheres are created within the one setting, intensified by the lighting, the changing positions of the musicians on stage, and the introduction of instruments which, though untraditional to flamenco, tie together and enrich the message.
Dancer and singer Sol La Argentinita joins poet and dancer Ra Ruiz León for a collaboration exploring themes of social justice, addressing climate change, and the celebration of life through creativity and artistry. Both artists, hailing from different disciplines but connected through Flamenco, use their mediums to create visibility around the issues most pertinent to them to showcase how talent and skill are tools to inspire positive change in our world.
