Founded in 2023, FLYDLPHN is a Southeast Michigan-based mixed chamber ensemble flourishing at the intersections of music technology, improvisation, and new experimental composition. Our distinct and panoramic sound is annually showcased at self-produced events, educational programs and residencies, and guest appearances with other like-minded artists. We are deeply committed to bringing unique and inspiring performances to our audiences having worked with 20+ composers on new works in our first 3 years as an ensemble. We empower art making by early-career composers and composers of underrepresented communities within contemporary classical music. Ultimately we are a collective of friends who create together. When given the chance to breach the surface of this cosmic soup, we are grateful to be the dolphin in midair showing our best trick to the world.
