In 1986, to awaken America to the AIDS crisis and to honor the friends he lost, Brent Nicholson Earle runs the perimeter of the United States. In The American Run for the End of AIDS, Brent runs almost a marathon a day for 20 months straight. After enduring blisters, exhaustion, ignorance and fear, he returns home to his own HIV diagnosis. Though the run finishes, Brent’s activism never stops.
In January of 2020, as part of the production of our documentary film "For the Love of Friends," we will stage a
theater show in New York's
West End Theatre.
Artists from the worlds of theater, dance and opera will come together to tell Brent's inspiring story; featuring original songs by Salomon Lerner, Amelia Brey and Christian Adam Jacobs.
Your contribution will fund two nights and one afternoon of theater in New York. Audiences will experience the strength of spirit that propels a 9000-mile run around America. Help us inspire new audiences to rethink their definition of what is possible.
