"Foundation" (feature experimental doc film)

Rooted in interviews with professionals across commercial, state, nonprofit, academic, and DIY contexts, "Foundation" is a feature-length experimental documentary to be presented as a discussion-heavy screening tour critiquing our extreme reliance on philanthropy in the arts, seeking to motivate cultural workers to organize toward a better future. The film will prompt difficult questions around what relationship art should have with the state, philanthropy, labor, and social justice today, ultimately hoping to influence public and private policy.
