Francesca Baron + Co is a space where dance is made in collaboration. We're committed to cultivating, centering, and advancing embodied interpersonal connection through dance + performance-making. Baron’s primary focus is using movement as the vehicle to imbue the everyday with sensitivity, creative-action, dialogue, dance, community, and forward motion.
Making work that is driven by themes of tenacity, subtlety, femininity and memory, Baron's choreography expresses nuance and dexterity with the moving body holding the epicenter. Valuing both the kinetic and somatic experience, she aims to capture fleeting moments of the human experience; a bid for connection, here to offer feeling and a bit of wonder.
Francesca Baron + Co was birthed from the desire to make performance work that compensates all artists involved a fair working wage. Baron remains optimistic of a future where dance is seen as an advantageous field, recognized as an important cultural commodity, and is generously supported financially.
