My work in the past four years has been in writing, compiling research on the intersectionality of mothering, spirituality, and our potentially imperative transition from Market Economy Culture (MEC) to Gift Economy Culture (GEC) for planetary survival, including the personal transformative process it requires.
Having recently graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) with a Master's in Transformative Leadership (and have returned for my Ph.D. in Fall 2023) I am committed to merging the art of embodied leadership through physical somatic arts and decolonial psychology.
I am resourcing from a decade of group facilitation specifically for women, it is now time to embark on merging my research into and positionality as a single "motherer" (Vaughan, 2015) in a wage-patriarchy with the world of healing and transformation through a "Matricentric-Liberation Leadership Philosophy" lens in the form of a land-project installation.
It has led me to the "thesis" that we cannot heal within the contexts built from the colonial or disconnected mind - but that we heal in relationship to our place, by reintegrating it as an extension of self. That only occurs when we get into a deeper relationship with the land itself, to understand our body-mind more holistically, more truthfully.
Therefore, the project entails designing and building. Transforming a space - to a place of connection wherein this ethos of gift economy and reciprocity is being embodied in the physical structures and environment itself. It is essentially a healing arts installation that transforms one space into a micro-environment representing and upholding the values of Matricentric, earth-honoring praxis to be the space wherein people come to practice yoga, movement arts, music, and healing.
The vision is to create and transform this place into a space of belonging to each other and the earth, in shared practice.
