About

OVERVIEW This is a proposal for a 20-minute documentary film about Gerhard Wolf, his experiences growing up in Berlin and his notable story as one of a group of teen refugees evacuated from Berlin to England at the start of WWII.  Wolf’s remarkable diary that documents this story was discovered in 2012. It not only recounts the personal journey of a boy ten years old to a mature young man, it offers a lens on the lives of children in the years leading up to the Holocaust, the impact of the war on their lives and the heroic efforts individuals and organizations took to save them from certain death.
