About

GASBAG is an uplifting half-hour LGBTQ centered comedy about GEORGE NORDSTROM, 40, a wannabe travel agent in Queens who suffers from logorrhea, or excessive over talking. (It’s a real thing!) Alone during Covid with no one to talk at, George realizes he needs to change his life pronto. Now, post-Covid, he’s on it! His overbearing mother PHYLLIS won’t make it easy, nor his manipulative boss MARCIA POWELL of Marcia Powell Travel, and memories of his missing father that bubble up don’t help. But thanks to his can-do spirit, help from his bossy cousin JEAN,  and the happy realization that he is as gay as a Fran Drescher figurine, George will learn to love silence. He may even learn to love himself.

.Lynn, an accomplished playwright and TV writer, first approached Chad about creating a show about an overtalker five years ago, but life and other projects got in the way. However, when Covid lockdown hit, Lynn fired off a comedic monologue for George/Chad, thinking it’d be fun to shoot it on Zoom and share it with friends.
We had such a blast shooting the first episode that we kept going, adding an editor, directors, a composer, and truly amazing actors who said an emphatic yes to the project. Check out our website below to see our first five unabashedly DIY - and short - episodes. Consider these our proof of concept for the show GASBAG will grow into.
GASBAG Season One was recently picked up by Kold Open, a marketplace that brokers web series to networks and studios for development into full-length series. This is a great sign we’re heading in the right direction, but we’re not going to wait around for someone to say “yes” to GASBAG. We want to say “yes” to ourselves which means shooting Season Two asap. Lynn is currently writing Season Two which picks up where Season One left off: Post-Covid George vows to venture into the world with fewer words in his quiver and the courage to shake up his life. We’re trying to raise $25K so we can shoot Season Two with higher production values, including more sophisticated sound equipment. We also want to pay our actors a fair wage. But GASBAG will always retain the “Let’s have some fun!” spirit of Season 1.
Our goal for GASBAG is to touch people's hearts and make them laugh. The feedback we’re getting thus far tells us we’re succeeding in bringing audiences much-needed joy. We all need an escape from the challenges of life these days. We feel confident that George and his band of friends and foes can help with that.
