About
Gonzalo Valencia-Peña and Michael Campbell! We met in the theater department of our engineering college in 2005 and we have been writing partners (and friends!) ever since. In that time we have worked on countless projects that have been performed and produced all throughout the NJ/NYC area, including two full-length musicals. For the past 5 years, we have been energetically working to bring to life Goblins & Gates: A Pen & Paper Musical, our brand NEW and completely ORIGINAL musical.

Want to see fresh ideas and authentically engage with new characters? Us too!! Through a lifetime of performing, writing, and gaming, we have a genuine love and appreciation for theatrical and game-based world-building. So many of our best memories, moments, and relationships have come from playing and working in both of these worlds.
We seek to follow in the footsteps of other innovators and paradigm shifters to bring musical theater to new heights and new audiences.
Finally, with our shared deep commitment and passion to create a fully inclusive world, we want everyone to feel reflected in our characters.
We like gates, not gatekeepers.
SHORT-TERM GOALS
The New York Theatre Festival selected Goblins and Gates to be performed! We will present ONE ACT of our show this May. Fundraising for this event will ensure we can pay our creative and technical staff, musicians, actors, rehearsal spaces, and all other expenses that accompany FULLY self-producing a show in NYC.
LONG-TERM GOALS
Perfecting our beautiful and thrilling show, and bringing it to audiences in NYC and beyond.
