There Is No Planet B is an evening-length dance work that fuses artistry with urgent climate activism. Originally developed as a classroom initiative at Colorado State University exploring climate action in dance curriculum, it evolved into a professional production sponsored by the Sharon Prize Colorado.
The piece addresses critical themes such as environmental justice, ecological loss, climate grief, and collective resilience. It invites audiences to reflect on humanity’s fragile connection to nature and the power of individual and collective action.
The creative process began with CSU students engaging in deep dialogue about climate realities—examining systemic inequality, urbanization, and emotional responses to environmental change. Using reflective tools like the Climate Action Venn Diagram, students connected their passions and skills to activism and embodied these ideas through improvisation and somatic movement.
Building on this foundation, the professional production was developed in summer 2025 with a new cast of 11 dancers, honoring the original students whose voices remain central.
All donated funds directly support the dancers, production team, and videographer, as well as efforts to expand the work into a feature film, broadening its reach and impact.
Our mission is to use dance as a platform for education, reflection, and advocacy—empowering artists and audiences to engage with climate issues in meaningful, embodied ways. Through creativity, collaboration, and community, There Is No Planet B exemplifies how art can be a catalyst for change.
Join us in this vital movement—because there truly is no Planet B.
